  1. Pick a professional studio to record your music.
  2. Pick a professional studio to fully master your music.
  3. Pick a professional photographer to take photos. 
  4. Pick a professional videographer to film your band live.
  5. Upload your new music to reverbnation and myspace.
  6. Upload your new profile pic to all your sites.
  7. Upload your new video to Youtube.

How to Promote Your Band #3


A weekly article featuring 7 steps to promote your band 
by James Miller


Week 3

  1. Create a Word or Text Document that you can edit and save. Save all your band info so that you can quickly copy/paste info when setting up new sites.
  2. Buy a black & white marble composition notebook to keep by your computer with all your site info like URL's, usernames and passwords.
  3. Write a short, descriptive, accurate biography. Keep it simple stupid. 
  4. Creatively describe your band members and their unique playing styles.
  5. Pick several artists your band sounds like.
  6. Pick several artists that have influenced you, this should be different than "sounds like".
  7. Pick Several genres that you fit into. Or simply create your own genre.

1. Sign up for a Paypal account using band gmail address for FREE

2. Sign up for an online bank account with Ally using band gmail address for FREE




3. Sign up for a Yola account using band gmail address for FREE, start building your website pages.

4. Sign up for a Go Daddy account to secure the band domain name and vanity URL using band gmail address (this will cost you about $10- $15 per year for 'www.yourname.com')

5. Sign up for a music profile at Reverbnation using band gmail address for FREE 

6. Sign up for Vista Print account using band gmail address, order business cards for FREE 

7. Search for open mics in your area by zip code at OpenMikes.Org, call before you haul, hand out business cards before and after your performance.

6. Sign up for a Youtube channel using band gmail address for FREE http://www.youtube.com

7. Create a Facebook page for the band for FREE https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
